Salaam Baalak Trust runs "Mobile School" to reach out to out of school children:
Salaam Baalak Trust participated in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Universalosation of Elementary Education programme) through running "Chalta Firta School" in Delhi from 11th February. The special bus well equipped with the basic infrastructure of a classroom along with a variety of latest teaching and learning aids like VCDs and learning kits was inaugurated by Delhi CM Sheila Dixit on previous day.

In an effort to universalizing the elementary education, the bus operates at four spots in Delhi to reach out to children who are out of school. These spots are i- Kaliwadi near Gole Dak Khana ii- Behind Guru Nanak Eye Hospital near Zakir Hussein College iii- ITO and iv- GB Road, Ajmerigate.

The Mobile Bus halts for two hours at every spot. In these stipulated hours, activities like; television screening, non formal education, group discussions on health hygiene, social skills, counseling, games and first aid are conducted. At the end of the session, supplementary nutrition is also provided. The programme focus to survey children who are out of school, then effort would be made to ensure they attend a regular school.
